Sexual Revolution
The sexual restrains of post war america left the youth curious and restless. Sexual experimentation began as a way to have fun and yet another way to not meet the expectations of society.
Unstructured relations
Student relationships were becoming more and more apparent on college campuses. Kids were staying together over the summer and coming back to the new school years together. This was a new concept and the colleges had a much more domestic atmosphere. The kids would often move in with each other without their parents permission. Unstructured relations were when young people stayed together but were not married. Its a sexual revolution because post-war sexuality was not adequate for the young lovers. They wanted to experiment and revolt, and sex was one way to do that.
the free-sex movement
The Counter Culture Movement stressed the idea of free love for all. The Free-Sex Movement was the introduction of the idea that people could have sex with as many people as they wanted without the social taboos. People were beginning to regard sex the same way they regarded marijuana, if it's relaxing and pleasant with no major side-effects, why not?
sex education
During the 1960s many didn't think it was appropriate for schools to have sexual education videos watched or lessons taught. Maybe this is why the college students were so intimate?
